Don Duncan was the co-founder of a chain of salons in 1974. Throughout his career he has attended advanced workshops and numerous schools taught by the most elite in our industry. His dream to educate evolved by bringing all that he had learned back to Oklahoma to teach the fashions of tomorrow to today’s students, hairdressers and salon owners. This knowledge served as the basis for Don to leave the ownership of salons and introduce Duncan Bros. School of Hair Design. The dream began in 1981 with the first school in Oklahoma City and quickly grew to “waiting list only” status. Under Don’s direction, the school continues to grow and expand, most recently, with a second campus opening in 2006 in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Instructors at Duncan Brothers School of Hair Design are well trained and experienced professionals in the hair industry, many being salon owners, school owners, and managers of top salons. As a team, they are committed to bringing the highest quality of education to their students. Their instructors share ideas and techniques from world-renowned educators such as Toni & Guy, Vidal Sassoon, Paul Mitchell, Loreal, Matrix, Wella, and countless others. Collaborating with Toni & Guy for basic and advanced cutting techniques has proven to be successful for their staff and students. The Toni & Guy Salons and Academies are recognized as industry leaders and are well-respected in this field. Continued education for their instructors is required.

Over the last two decades their students have become well-established in salon management and ownership throughout the world. This truth has so expanded the original dream for Don Duncan and is now the goal of the entire staff.

Students are provided “state of the art” equipment as to create the ever-changing trends for the hairdresser of today. The environment that they have established is unique to Duncan Brothers School of Hair Design and can only be experienced by visiting and touring. A salon atmosphere is accomplished daily on our cutting floor which serves to prepare the student for salon life. Everything from greeting the customer properly to consulting and performing the service with confidence is instilled in their students. At Duncan Brothers School of Hair Design, they move above and beyond the accepted curriculum and teach their students how to build a clientele and maintain it, accounting skills for this industry, and salon management and ownership. This not only teaches the student the physical art of hairdressing, but also creates the knowledge of how to be self-employed and successful. Duncan Brothers School of Hair Design continues to deliver the caliber of graduates those salon owners so desire.

Financial aid is available. Tuition amount can be financed through Duncan Bros. School of Hair Design for the length of the course with no interest rate applied. Also available are Sallie Mae, VA and BIA programs.

The College is authorized to offer twenty-one programs: eight baccalaureates, twelve at the master or doctoral level, and one certificate program. Diagnosis of disease and disorders, wellness and prevention, therapeutic and rehabilitative services, health care administration, and allied health professions education encompass the spectrum of professional programs in the College of Allied Health. Faculty offer continuing education programs for practitioners in Oklahoma and region, and faculty development seminars for clinicians involved with professional-entry programs in the College.
