AmeriTech College was founded in 1979, two blocks west of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. In 2005 a new non-main campus was opened to serve the Salt Lake City area.
AmeriTech College focuses on providing technical training to students who want to move rapidly into the work force, and creating career opportunities for people in the medical professions. AmeriTech has a unique educational model that delivers a hand’s on approach to learning with an emphasis in bringing the “real world” of medical professions into the classroom in order to provide the best possible training for our students.
The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) has institutionally accredited Ameritech College since 1984. ABHES is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency under the provision of Chapter 33, Title 38 of the U.S. Code and subsequent legislation.

AmeriTech College offers a 38 week Dental Assistant program at Provo campus. This program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to assist a dentist or hygienist. Students learn patient preparation, chair-side assisting, front office skills, radiology techniques, laboratory procedures, dental materials preparation as well as sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment, preparation of tray setups and various dental procedures. Graduates are qualified to sit for the Certified Dental Assistant exams.
Dental Laboratory Technician
The objectives of the Dental Lab Technician program are to teach students how to be productive and valued Dental Lab Technicians and to enable them to carry out the entry-level employment responsibilities required by dental labs. Students are taught using the PTC (Productivity Training Corporation) Skill Learning System for producing precisely fabricated crowns and bridges using a variety of materials to closely resemble natural dentition.
AmeriTech College offers a 34 week program at Provo campus. This course will provide students with comprehensive training in performing entry-level skills in medical offices and clinics. The curriculum includes training in a wide variety of competency-based skills for both clinical and administrative areas necessary for assisting the physician in his/her practice.
Healthcare Office Specialist
The objective of the Health care Office Specialist program is to prepare individuals to perform the duties and functions of a specialty administrative assistant or office manager for physicians or dentists, ant to perform duties in any other health care or general office environment.
AmeriTech College offers an RN program that prepares students for an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Nursing which enables graduates to apply for the NCLEX exam for registered nursing.
Students spend a portion of their time in clinical training in local hospitals and other facilities. This training gives real-life experience gained from working with health care professionals and is an invaluable aid for our students. AmeriTech College also utilizes a Meti Human Patient Simulator.
Surgical Technologist is a 45-week program offered at the Provo Campus. This program enables students to assist in surgical operations and procedures under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel. Surgical Technologists prepare the operating room by assembling surgical equipment and instrumentation. They transport patients, assist with positioning, calculate blood loss, care for specimens, sterilize equipment, pass instrumentation, and aid the surgeon in retraction and visualization of the surgical field.
Medical Billing and Coding- Associate of Applied Science Degree (Online Program)
This program is offered exclusively online in an asynchronous format. All program courses are designed for interaction between faculty and students and among students that encourages participation. This program provides students with a solid academic foundation and the critical skills needed in health care billing and coding practices, and the technologies that support them. Successful graduates will be well-prepared to enter the healthcare field as a billing and coding specialist as both physician-based and in-patient-coders.
AmeriTech College requires that all financial arrangements be made prior to the first day of class. Financial aid is available to those who qualify and are subject to verification. There are several options for financing your education at AmeriTech College:
