Class Schedule

Cosmetology and Esthetics classes begin every eight weeks. They offer day and night classes, with full and part-time schedules. All students must attend a minimum of four hours of theory lecture a week. Either a daily (Tues-Fri) 8:30-9:30 a.m. class or the Monday night 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. class.

Enrollment

  • Students must be at least 16 years of age to enroll in any of the courses
  • To qualify for State Board examination, you must have completed the tenth
  • grade or its equivalency, be at least 17 years of age and possess a social security number.
  • A copy of a valid driver’s license or state ID’s required of all students
  • Each student must pass the entrance exam prior to enrollment

Satisfactory Academic Progress

All students are required to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) to remain enrolled in their course of study SAP requires that you:

  • Maintain minimum attendance standards as defined in the course catalog
  • Maintain minimum 75% “C” or higher grade average on all tests, assignments and required operations

Uniforms and Dress Code

All students are expected and required to maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times. A school smock and T-Shirt are provided in all student kits. Their Dress code consists of solid black slacks and the Jerrylee beauty college t-shirt that is provided in the kits.

Cosmetology

Cosmetology course covers all technical and practical subjects of Cosmetology as prescribed by the criteria set forth by the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology. Their curriculum includes areas such as Hair Coloring, Permanent Waving, Chemical Straightening, Haircutting, Thermal and Wet Hairstyling, Facials, Makeup, Waxing, Manicuring, Pedicuring and Artificial Nails. At completion, students will receive a Diploma and will be certified to take the California State Board examination for Cosmetology. Upon successful completion of the exam, you will receive a license to practice Cosmetology.

Esthetics

Esthetics covers all technical and practical subjects of Skin Care. Following the criteria set forth by the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology. Their Curriculum includes areas such as Manual, Chemical and Electrical Facials, Eyebrow Arching and Waxing, Make-up Theory and Application and Body Waxing in addition. Students will learn advanced Face and Body treatments such as Glycolic Peels, Collagen Masks, Body Wraps, and Bronzing Treatments.

Upon successful completion students will receive a diploma, an undergraduate certification from The Dermal Institute. All graduates will be certified to take the California State Board examination for Esthetics Upon successful completion of the exam; you will receive a license to practice Esthetics.
