Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene
Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is a 4-year, private not-for-profit institution located in Boston, Massachusetts. The school acquired the Forsyth Institute’s School for Dental Hygienists in 2002, and it currently offers both an undergraduate and a graduate program in the field.
The Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists records include agreements between Northeastern University and the Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists; correspondence and memoranda related to administrative arrangements, financial agreements, program requirements, and tuition/fees; meeting minutes of the Forsyth-Northeastern Administrative Committee; newsletters; brochures and course catalogs; and commencement materials. Additional materials in the collection are from the Forsyth Dental Center and the Northeastern-Tufts Dental Assistant Program.
Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene
The B.S. in Dental Hygiene offered at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is a full-time, 33-month program designed for freshmen and transfer students. The accelerated program features general education and basic science courses, combined with core courses related to dental hygiene theory and pain management. Students are also expected to participate in patient care experiences at the nearby Esther M. Wilkins Forsyth Dental Hygiene Clinic.
The field of dental hygiene is one of the country’s fastest-growing occupations, and one you can succeed in with either a 2-year associate’s degree or certificate or a 4-year bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene technology. You can even earn a master’s degree in dental hygiene, and this will allow you to teach other aspiring dental hygienists or to work in the area of dental health research.
